Drowning to Breathe is the conclusion to Shea and Sebastian's 2-part Duet!

5 WOW STARS!

This book was very difficult to read and I suppose it was even more difficult to write. After how the first book ended I honestly didn’t know what to expect.

In this sequel the story dives deeper and a lot of the unanswered questions from book one are answered, but I shall not spoil you!

Not going to lie, it was difficult to read, not that it’s badly written, maybe because it is so well written. Author made me relate to these characters so much, although I had no such struggles in life like they did. And that I suppose says a lot about what a great writer A.L. Jackson is.

Also this book brings out the family values, which is very important imho. Especially the one that clearly shows that family doesn’t have to be blood related.

So to sum up, a beautiful love story that I recommend reading!

And I’m off to the next book!

Peace,

A.

REVIEW: A Stone in the Sea (Bleeding Stars #1) by A.L. Jackson

About this book:

He wanted nothing at all…
Until he found she had everything to give…
Sunder lead singer and guitarist Sebastian Stone has everything—fans, fame, and fortune. He also has a heart full of bitterness and a reputation for a short-fused temper. But an outward reputation rarely reveals the true man inside. Facing assault charges after trying to protect his younger brother, Sebastian is sent to Savannah, Georgia to lie low until the dust settles in L.A.
Shea Bentley is beautiful, kind, and hiding from the very lifestyle Sebastian has always embraced.
When the mysterious, tattooed stranger begins hanging out at the bar where she works, Shea is quick to recognize he is nothing but trouble, but she's helpless to the way her body lights up every time his intense gray eyes tangle with hers.
They both soon find themselves drowning in a sea of desire and passion that won’t let them up for air.
Sebastian knows firsthand secrets never die, and he’s not the only one who’s hiding them.
Loving someone always comes with a price. But will it be Shea’s past that costs them everything?

5 OVERWHELMING STARS!

I knew I would love this book! I just knew it! But let me tell you… I wasn’t ready to love it this much, because my expectations were way too high! But it did not disappoint!

A funny story of how I started to read this story backwards and yet I’m so happy that I have.

So this story is the beginning of the series, it’s about two people who found each other by accident but the spark was lit. It’s the beginning of their love story and while some things were a bit frustrating in this book I am willing to forgive them because even with those irritants this is still a great book.

Can’t write anything else because I must jump right into the next one!

Peace,

A.

REVIEW: Twisted (Tangled #2) by Emma Chase

About this book:
There are two kinds of people in the world. The ones who look first, and the ones who leap. I’ve always been more of a looker. Cautious. A planner. That changed after I met Drew Evans. He was so persistent. So sure of himself – and of me.

But not all love stories end happily ever after. Did you think Drew and I were going to ride off into the sunset? Join the club. Now I have to make a choice, the most important of my life. Drew already made his –in fact, he tried to decide for the both of us. But you know that’s just not my style. So I came back to Greenville. Alone. Well, sort of alone....

What I've come to realize is that old habits die hard and sometimes you have to go back to where you began, before you can move ahead.

3 Stars.

Welp, sadly the only think I can say is that I’m a bit disappointed. As much as I loved the first book in the series, I just cannot say the same about this one. I actually read this a year ago but was too busy and too discouraged to write a full review. Also I’m not a fan of smashing someone else’s work. However, I found my notes on this book and thought why the hell not. I should at least explain why I gave 3 stars, right?

So I won’t be spoiling you and I won’t be telling you what exactly happened that got me triggered but I’ll just say what was bothering me the most in general. Assuming! The making of ass out of you and me! And that is exactly what it is.

I’m actually so tired of this ‘plot twist’. It’s in almost every book and it’s always the same and the reactions are always the same and the emotions that it brings forth are always the same. It’s just tiring and makes me eye-roll and face-palm so much, I have bruises now.
Now I shall stop my rant and just say that I didn’t particularly enjoy the direction author took this book to. I felt great potential in this story at first and it ended just like every other mediocre story and that was really disappointing because I LOV-LOV-LOOOVED the first one.

Anyway, this is just my opinion, I hope YOU loved it!

P.S. I still think once should still read the first book in the series Tangled.

Peace, A.

REVIEW: Tangled (Tangled #1) by Emma Chase

About this book: Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?
He’ll tell you he has the flu.
But we all know that’s not really true.
Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything - or anyone - derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.
Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?
Can Drew Evans win at love?
Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

5 AMAZING STARS!

Annnnnd.... I have one more book to add to my "Favorites" bookshelf!
I don't think 'I loved' it is the words for this one.. Hell, but I did loved it!
I can't say I agreed with everything, but to read such unapologetic guy's POV was actually quite satisfying!

I could say that Drew is something else. When really, he's not. Not only he's a prick in the beginning like so many guys are, but he's also proud of himself for that. Doesn't sound like a good read, does it? But you're wrong there. It was fantastic because of that! He was himself and didn't even try to pretend to be anyone else. And I like honest people, those are the best. I can hate them, but I also respect them.

Also, I'd like to add few words about the writing. I was not sure about this 'conversation with the reader' thing. Especially in the beginning.. But, it grew on me. And when I started to appreciate it, I fell in love with this book :)

Drew's honesty is limitless, especially about his sister LOL

Oh, and the LOL'ing part. I enjoy when a book makes me laugh! I love it! You always gonna win me over with a book that makes laugh! The sincere kind of laughing! I love those books! This is one of them!

See, when I use so much exclamatory marks, it means I'm excited :D

Peace,

A.

REVIEW: Pillowtalk by Cassie Mae

About this book:
In this heartfelt romance from the author of the All About Love series, two people who thought they’d given up on passion turn to each other for emotional support—and maybe something a little more physical.

But while she’s staying at his sister’s B&B, Kennedy is shocked to find herself undeniably drawn to a handsome local heartthrob—especially since she isn’t  sure if she’s ready to move on.
Aaron Sheppard returned to Lyra Valley because he was fed up with the big city and everything it didn’t have to offer—like the beautiful, down-to-earth girl staying at the B&B. Aaron’s enjoying a little flirtation until he realizes that she’s Kennedy Walters, the girl who was dating his best friend. But after a power outage strands them together, Aaron and Kennedy wind up sharing some intimate conversation. And over the course of a night that neither will ever forget, they learn just how compatible they could be—if only they knew how to let go and fall into each other’s arms.

5 Heartfelt Golden stars!

Wow this book! Oww this book!

This book is one of the sweetest that I’ve ever read. It’s so heartbreakingly sweet...

The story is about a woman. A young woman who lost the love of her life to a vicious disease and this story portrays her journey after. How do you live after you lose the person who was your life? How do you move on? Do you even? Are you able to love another person? Should you?

These and other similar questions are what our heroine feels and goes through every day.  It’s a sad life when the person you love to talk to can no longer answer you back.
This book had me crying but it also had me smiling. It is not as dark as it might seem. This book is not about loss, it’s about hope!

I highly recommend, however, you might want to grab those tissues first!

Peace,

A.

5 out of 5 the most beautiful and the most loving Golden Stars!

This book had me twisted in knots but at the same time filled with love and hope!

I have no clue where and how to start this review. This book came at me out of nowhere. I haven’t even read the books that go before this one in the series! And I never do that! I’m so anal about rules and this is usually my rule. To never start in the middle of a series. But here we are.

So let’s start from the beginning. When I started reading I didn’t know what to expect. I kind of liked the idea of the summary and thought it would be an easy, fast-paced love story. Basically I didn’t want anything too serious, some romance, some steam, but that’s it. And of course it all started kinda cheesy. I was rolling my eyes more than once, especially when the male hero kept spouting clichés non-stop.

But then the miracle happened! The book picked up speed and I just couldn’t stop reading. This girl, the heroine of this book… Oh my god, it hurts how genuinely sweet she is and how much she feels! Somehow I could relate to her… And this boy...This boy… *le sigh* He’s a walking breathing contradiction and you can’t help but love him. But especially you can’t help but love them together!
Anyway, I’m in love with this book. It made me feel so much. I don’t want to spoil it for you, however. I highly recommend this book and I think it can be read as a stand-alone. Of course it probably is best to read them in succession. But like I said I understood pretty much everything quite alright.

Peace,
A.
P.S. And that cover is love <3

REVIEW: Storm of Attraction (Willowdale #1) by Lily Black

About this book: Alexa Wolving has just one rule: never give a guy a second chance. That works just fine in the safe life she’s built. In the charming town of Willowdale, her day job as a librarian balances perfectly with her evening job as a black belt instructor. But when she attracts the attention of a stalker, Alexa’s carefully built world begins to crumble.

Drew Cosimo knows he broke Alexa’s heart five years ago when he took his first Ranger assignment and disappeared from her life. Now that he’s out of the army, he’s moving back home to Willowdale. He’s not looking for a fight, but making peace would be easier if Alexa hadn’t told the entire town he was a money-grubbing jerk. Despite the tension between them, Drew is quick to offer his protection when a stalker forces Alexa from her home.

As the stalker’s attacks escalate, Alexa and Drew are forced to face their painful past and the simmering attraction between them. They must fight to save each other before everything they care about goes up in flames.

A fast-paced love story with a mystery on top!

This book was a pleasant and a quick read. The story is about a young woman who got burned in a relationship before. So when her old flame comes back in town there’s all kinds of mixed feelings going on! And let’s not forget about the mysterious stalker, who becomes scarier and scarier, to me at least.

Also seems that this book is first in a new series, which is yay! I highly anticipate the next book and hope I’ll have the opportunity to review it too.

Peace,
A.

P.S. Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC for an honest review!

Everyone in this rural Pennsylvanian town has something to hide—including Leah herself. How do you uncover the truth when you are busy hiding your own?

4 strong golden stars!

Oh… my goodness… the turmoil I’m in right now!

The thing with this book – I did not know what to expect. I haven’t read All The Missing Girls yet, but I know many of my fellow Goodreaders have been raving about how amazing it was. I got this for a review, and btw I would like to thank NetGalley and Simon & Shuster for this wonderful opportunity. But what I’m trying to say is that I had no idea what I was going in to.

This book is said to be a second one in the All The Missing Girls series, however I might say it can be read as a stand-alone.

So let’s review what I think about this book.

It is very difficult for me to tell you all how I feel exactly. It’s funny because I enjoyed this book very much and yet I find myself speechless. Maybe it is because it’s all still so fresh. The mystery, the drama, and the unknown.

It’s about this girl – woman, Leah, who I can really relate to. She’s journalist by heart and she is willing to sacrifice all for the truth. I’m no journalist myself, but I know the feeling, when you get into trouble for persisting, because you stick to what you believe. And in this book the author is talking about the essence of right and wrong actions… What are we willing to do for the truth to come out or keep it hidden?

Well and also on top of it all there’s a great mystery that culminates at the end – and let me tell you, I did not see that coming. So I highly recommend this book to all.

My next stop is to read the first book, because I’m hooked!

Peace, A.

REVIEW: Echoes in Death (In Death #44) by J.D. Robb

About this book: As NY Lt. Eve Dallas and her billionaire husband Roarke are driving home, a young woman—dazed, naked, and bloody—suddenly stumbles out in front of their car. Roarke slams on the brakes and Eve springs into action.
Daphne Strazza is rushed to the ER, but it’s too late for her husband Dr. Anthony Strazza. A brilliant orthopedic surgeon, he now lies dead amid the wreckage of his obsessively organized town house, his three safes opened and emptied. Daphne would be a valuable witness, but in her terror and shock the only description of the perp she can offer is repeatedly calling him “the devil”...
While it emerges that Dr. Strazza was cold, controlling, and widely disliked, this is one case where the evidence doesn’t point to the spouse. So Eve and her team must get started on the legwork, interviewing everyone from dinner-party guests to professional colleagues to caterers, in a desperate race to answer some crucial questions:
What does the devil look like? And where will he show up next?

5 strong golden stars!

This is the 44th book in the series, not including the shorter stories. The 44th!! How about that! And this I cannot get enough of Eve and the people she work with. This character is one of my favorites. She is like a bad-ass female version of Bruce Willis in his movies lol. Seriously, I love her and just can’t get enough of her. I am sad now that I haven’t reviewed all of these books as I read them, but I was seriously binge reading and couldn’t be bothered at that time to stop and write a review. As with all longer series, some book are better than others and yet I feel like this series doesn’t have bad books. I loved all and every one of them. Of course some were closer to my heart than others, but every book is unique and just proves again and again what a wonderful writer Nora Roberts is <3
So this book got me guessing from the start. I’m a huge fan of detectives and for example in movies I pretty much can say from the start who did what and who’s responsible. And since I read all the previous books in this series, I was sure I could guess who the ‘bad guy’ here is. Lol... Yes I was sure I could tell. I know, funny. But once again dear Nora surprised me and I’m glad. This power she has keeps me coming back again and again, to read her books.
Absolutely loved this book and am very sad it ended and cannot wait for the next one to come!
If you haven’t started this series, maybe you’re intimidated by the number of books in it (I was), don’t be! The fact that this series is still going only shows that one, the story isn’t over, two the author still has something to add to the characters and three – demand for these books is high!
I highly recommend!

Peace,

A.

REVIEW: The Turn (The Hollows #0.1) by Kim Harrison

About this book: Kim Harrison returns to her beloved Hollows series with The Turn, the official prequel to the series that will introduce fans and readers to a whole new side of Rachel Morgan's world as they've never seen it before!
Can science save us when all else fails? Trisk and her hated rival, Kalamack, have the same goal: save their species from extinction.
Death comes in the guise of hope when a genetically modified tomato created to feed the world combines with the government's new tactical virus, giving it an unexpected host and a mode of transport. Plague takes the world, giving the paranormal species an uncomfortable choice to stay hidden and allow humanity to die, or to show themselves in a bid to save them.
Under accusations of scientific misconduct, Trisk and Kal flee across a plague torn United States to convince leaders of the major paranormal species to save their supposedly weaker kin, but not everyone thinks humanity should be saved.
Kal surreptitiously works against her as Trisk fights the prejudices of two societies to prove that not only does humanity have something to offer, but that long-accepted beliefs against women, dark magic, and humanity itself can turn to understanding; that when people are at their worst that the best show their true strength, and that love can hold the world together as a new balance is found.

5 out of 5 beautiful golden starts!!!

Oh yes! Oh My Gawd, yes please! This book was exactly what I needed! Something new created from something old!
Let me say that at first I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy reading the beginning of it all. Of course when I saw it fist that dear Harrison is releasing another book for her “The Hollows” series I was thrilled!!! But then I saw it was a prequel… suddenly I wasn’t so sure at all. Y’all probably are wondering why? It’s simple, really. I have read and re-read this whole series more than once, 3 or maybe 4 times. I know and love and hate the characters, some I’ve learned to love. I KNOW THEM. And it was over, although I was really, really sad when the series ended. I’m still missing Rachel and her crew. In my opinion this is one of the best series ever written, hands down. The world building, plots, everything is perfect. It reflects the author’s creativity and just leaves you in awe. And after missing these books for a long time I almost came to terms with the idea that it’s over.
But yes, I gave it a shot and I want to thank NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an ARC to give my honest review.
And I couldn’t be more honest than to say that I LOVE IT! It’s perfect! This book gives us an insight of what was happening before the turn. How ‘the turn’ even happened, and why. Another thing that I loved was recognizing the key players that will appear in the series as it progresses. SPOILER ALERT! ----à it was so nice seeing Al! loool
Another thing I would recommend is that if you only now joining us, the die hard “The Hollows” fans, this book should not be read as a first in the series. Maybe the author won’t agree, but in my humble opinion, this book explains a lot that you only learn while reading the series. And I think you should not know some stuff before you know it, if that makes sense! J
It will be more fun to learn it as you go, I promise.
So get your copy of this book and start reading!

Peace,
A.
