Fields of Elysium Book Blast!

Fields of Elysium by A.B. Whelan

How can love mend a heart full of hate?

Small town girl, Molly Bennett, moves to Los Angeles where she becomes an outsider while attending Beverly Hills High School. It seems life cannot be any more dreadful. Then one day after school, something magical happens. On a secluded hike in the Hollywood Hills, Molly chases her disobedient mutt and only friend into a hidden cavern. She stumbles upon a strange glimmering gateway that transports her to Arkana, a planet that is the cradle of an advanced human race. There, teenagers navigate amazing flying vehicles, compete in perilous games for glory, and possess supernatural powers. While Molly tries to wrap her mind around this unbelievable discovery, she meets the alluring and mysterious Victor Sorren. He is a Sentinel Apprentice, whose hatred toward people from Earth is beyond understanding. Yet every time Victor unpredictably saves Molly's life, his heart draws closer to hers, no matter how much he tries to fight against it. It further complicates things that their growing friendship is strictly forbidden. Earth people are prohibited in Arkana, yet Molly continues to cross through the portal to Arkana to see Victor. Torn between their double lives, they go down a dangerous path, from where there is no return and multiple endings.

Fields of Elysium is a suspenseful, romantic tale full of forbidden secrets, unimaginable danger, deception, and the never-ending fight for true love.

He’s learned trust is a word used all too often, but rarely earned. Ethan believes that his best chance for maintaining a simple and solitary existence is to live by a simple mantra: Don’t get involved. Keep things simple. Take care of yourself! When a young woman moves in next door, Ethan is forced to reevaluate his beliefs. He tries to keep his distance, but his new neighbor’s infectious smile and outlook on life leave him struggling with the decision of living the life he knows, or taking a chance on the unexpected. Well.. sadly I didn't loved this like other people did.

So I give 3 Stars! and still feel generous about it.

The whole story line... it was a total mood killer. There was no theme development there. Only jumping from subject to subject.

I'm actually surprised with myself cause I tend to support young/new writers no matter what.. But It was nothing like I expected.

And "Mayhem Erotica"? Seriously?

My first thought after I finished this was - "puh-lease!"
I actually don't really know what this was. I'm very disappointed.
This could have been such a good story.

I assume it was, in the authors head. But honestly, we can't read minds.

I think it's the harshest review of mine so far.

But I just feel mad.

It wasn't even that beautiful of a story, it was naive.

On the other hand, there were few very important subjects brought to attention. So maybe that's why I don't give it only 1 star.
And I actually laughed - 2 times, that helps to.

So consider yourself warned!

Peace

Awwwww this was HOT!!!

My rating is 4 Stars!

Holly.. mother of all Bastards! :))

This book made my day! I felt so depressed, and this read.. I was laughing soo hard, I thought my own panties may rip LOL

This story is about what happens when you're a bastard and you want, no.. you NEED your assistant so much, you think you may burst!

And this is what happens when your boos is a total dick, an ass-hat and completely irresistible and such a beautiful bastard!

You can imagine what happens.. :))

Panties are ripping, buttons are flying, steam is rising. Also there's a lot of panting, dirty words are flying in all directions.

And everything would be just fine, except that they can't stand each other 'before' and 'after' all that heavy breathing is done. Still they need to work together and so the story takes us captive.
I completely ignored everyone around me, I needed so much to finish this book and to know how will it end!!!
And I can tell you right now, I Loved how it ended!
This was such a wonderful refreshment for me!

Read and enjoy!

Edge of Dawn by Lara Adrian

Midnight Breed Novel #11

Synopsis:
Twenty years after the terror of First Dawn—when mankind learned that vampires lived secretly among them—the threat of violence reigns as the two species struggle to coexist. The only group preserving the fragile harmony is the Order, an elite cadre of Breed warriors dedicated to protecting humans and vampires alike. And in this precarious world of torn loyalties and shattered trust, Mira, a fiery squad captain, finds that every fight bears an intensely personal cost.

Raised among the Order, Mira has always believed in the warrior’s code of swift—and even lethal—justice. But the one thing she desires more than the Order’s hard-won acceptance is Kellan Archer, a sexy but troubled Breed fighter. In love with him since childhood, Mira once broke through his tough exterior during an unexpected night of rapture, but the next day he mysteriously disappeared, never to return.

Kellan didn’t think he would ever see Mira again—or have to confront the truth of why he left. After abandoning the Order years ago, he now leads a band of human rebels intent on carrying out their own vigilante rule of law. Yet a high-profile kidnapping assignment brings him face-to-face with the past he sought to avoid, and the striking woman he has tried desperately to forget. And as tensions mount and the risk of bloodshed grows, Kellan and Mira must take sides—between the competing missions that dominate their lives, and the electrifying passion that claims their hearts.

I'll give 5 Stars! although I'm not sure it's worth that. But I just love these series too much!

First of all I like to say how much I adore this Author! I'm in love with this book series from the first sentence that I've read!

There's everything that I like - action, a little bit of mystery (sometimes a lot more the a little bit), love and romance and of course paranormal activity!
What can I say, I'm hopeless when it comes to that :)

So, about the book.

In the beginning it was a little hard to comprehend what's going on.
There were a lot of those What? When?Where? and WTH's? Because Author decided to proceed this series with action taking place 20 years after the last book. A lot of new names and activities.
It was like starting new series, but with the old and familiar feelings :)
From what I've read here, I think this series is far from ending, I really hope so!
I just wish that we(fans) wouldn't have to wait so long for next book!
*hint-hint* :)

The story is about Mira

and Kellan Archer.

Because of the time that had passed in the series they're both no longer kids and the connection they had before transformed into true friendship, love, passion..

Sadly not everything is good for them.. actually nothing is good, at least at the start.
And Mira's gift played a crucial part in all of it.
Lets not forget about very dangerous and powerful threat hiding very near..
Threat that'll have an impact on all, the human race and especially The Breed.
Looks like the war is coming... And you'll never guess with whom!!

I'm already tearing out off of my skin! I want more of this bewitching world that Lara Adrian creates!

Looks like I'll be skinless by the time new book appears LOL

Anyway, this was good read! I'm pleased with how it came up.
And I really hope the next story will be about Nathan!

Easy by Tammara Webber

Synopsis:

A girl who believes trust can be misplaced, promises are made to be broken, and loyalty is an illusion.

A boy who believes truth is relative, lies can mask unbearable pain, and guilt is eternal.

Will what they find in each other validate their conclusions, or disprove them all?

Absolutely loved listening this audiobook!

Narrator did a great job! It was almost like I had read it myself!

5 STARS!!!

( I just can give less after listening to this!)

This story is not about a love at first sight...

This story is about a young woman..

A story that made my hearth hurt more then few times..

A story for , and not just, abused females all around the world.
Ladies! - We need to unite, and NOT close to ourselves if we're being abused!

Ask for

There will always be someone who could help You!

I started thinking that maybe I should also join self-defense classes! There were few moves in this book that I def would like to learn.

That's right! I want tho share my excitement about martial arts in this book... there will be some action in that area. Oh, and there will be tats involved.. And everybody who knows me, knows my love for guys with tattoos.. It's just soo.. sinful :))
Shallow me.. whatever :))

~*~*~*~

.... And there's the love story..
two people falling for each other no matter that the circumstances are not in their favor.

It's about soul-deep connection and care..

I don't want to reveal too much. You just have to read it by yourself :))

BTW - it's very well written, maybe the story-line is a bit stretched in some places, but that doesn't really change anything.
I loved this book the first time I've read it, and now.. It was even more amazing experience!!!

Did I mentioned that this book..

It's beautiful!

"Love is not the absence of logic, but logic examined and recalculated, heated and curved to fit inside the contours of the heart"

"Group read!" <---- LOOOOOOL group of one, but whatever.

I finished this and I'm very pleased with myself.

It actually wasn't that bad, if you've read my comments during the reading, you probably wouldn't want to read this book. BUT it wasn't all that bad.
It was total emotional-clusterfuck however, and not to mention one lost oh so very lost heroine.
But in the end she got a grip on herself (and It's only because I was praying to God that she would).
Anyway..

People who love drama, soup-operas. This is the book for you.

And I love drama. It's just this one a little bit too much even for me.

Hope next book is better - talking about our heroine. Cause if she's still so brainless and spineless - God help me...!

OMG this was soo good!!! Nora is really good at what she's doing! God created her to write and that shows in her work!
I swallowed this book in one day, all the way with all my mom duties and I'm as happy as a satisfied reader could get! :))

And by the way.. I totally knew it was that person who did all the crimes! I knew it, I could smell it!
God I'm so smart :DDDD LOL

I need just a little bit more data on books like this one and I'm definitely writing my own!
Damn it , I'd be one helluva good cop! :)))

Anyway, this series just keeps getting better and better. If you haven't started it yet, you should do that immediately ! Like now! Go online and buy her books or wait till morning ( it's a middle of the night right here.. well early morning I suppose :))) ) and go to your nearest book store or library!

I'm having really great time reading this and I can't wait till I start the next book in this series!

Dang.. that's a lot of exclamatory marks LOL :)) I think I'm exited

so that's my short review

see ya! ;)

2 Stars - barely..

I don't even know what to say..

It was such a 'fairytale' and not in a good way. For very very naive people..

The start was very promising, but after few pages it all went downhill so fast.. and I lost my interest completely. So I was struggling very hard to finish it, just for the pleasure of my masochistic side.

Maybe some people would highly disagree with me... but that's my opinion.

I would NOT read this again... I'm not sure I'll read the rest of the series. Maybe some day... when I'll be desperate for ... something.

And yet I can not say it was bad. Though it wasn't great - that's for sure!
There was something missing.
There were no boundaries in the 'world' author wrote about. One minute there's fearies, the next you can be expecting angels coming down singing hallelujah! And the things that witches can do!! WOW...
There was desperate need for some basic ground rules. There were no such thing

So I'm really sad. For my wasted time and broken expectations.

Real Huge 5 Stars!!!

"I would say it was nice to meet you, but I was naked so… it wasn't."

To say that I liked this book would be an understatement of the year!
I think it's one of the few contemporary novels that I really FELT this year.

It's a story about a young woman, who's trying to live her life as she know it after her family died in a car accident 8 years ago.
She's closed to everyone, don't lets anyone close enough to hurt her or that she could hurt them.
However, everything changes when she meets HIM.

The story goes about really broken soul, that struggles to live everyday live closed up inside.

Very emotional but satisfying read. I'm shaken by it.
It really touches you deep thinking about, what would you do if you'd loose your family??
Author said it.. Life is too short, so we need to live it to the fullest!

To lighten the mood a bit, i have this quote that really made my day :

>>>>"Are you saying I'm disagreeable?"
He raised his eyebrow. "Woman, how stupid do you think I am? You really think I'm answering that? I want to get laid tonight.
I pushed him harder. "Watch it, or you might get laid to rest."<<<<

Morningside by Ashley Madau

Synopsis:

It’s easy to get caught up with bad-ass vampires, a killer love triangle, broken engagements, assumed clones, and enough sexual tension to drive anyone crazy.

Does society really know what it means to be a vampire? What it feels like? Tastes like? The struggles of going through life in a state of unacceptance, and using every fiber of your being to change?

MORNINGSIDE shows vampires in a new light. Humanity believes them to be one thing, without any deviation-- the perfection of a human hunter. One woman is able to prove them wrong. Trapped between both the mortal and immortal realms, she becomes the line between humans and vampires, and both the differences and similarities they share. When her life is put at stake, the worlds begin to collide.

12/11/2012 -- Finished reading

I've got this book for a review.

So my thoughts about it..

The start was a bit bumpy. There was a lot going on, and it was a bit hard to handle.
But as the book progressed It was easier to grasp everything. This book is nothing like I've ever read before.
I don't think I enjoyed the style it was written in. But it was Ok.

The story goes about a girl-turned vampire, who's struggling to accept what she is and what she's not.
Time-line changes through the book, but most the action is in present.

And there's a love triangle of course. But mostly this book is about the girl and what she's going through emotionally after change. Her thoughts and feelings are the foundation for this book.

Honestly I didn't liked in the beginning, but till I reached the end I guess I connected with the characters enough not to hate it :)) It was strange for me, cause it's seems author has way different view about everything then what we're used to. And that's a good thing!

And no matter what other comments say, I think Ashley Madau have a huge potential, and she should keep writing cause I'd really like to read more from her!

Captive In The Dark by C.J. Roberts

Synopsis

Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Eighteen-year-old Olivia Ruiz has just woken up in a strange place. Blindfolded and bound, there is only a calm male voice to welcome her. His name is Caleb, though he demands to be called Master. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him.

WARNING: This book contains very disturbing situations, dubious consent, strong language, and graphic violence.

5 Stars!

It's a difficult, psychologically challenging book.YOU SHOULD READ IT!

“This isn't a romance. You're not a damsel in distress and I'm not the handsome prince come to save you.”

You may find some spoilers below. BEWARE!

I liked this book for several reasons.

Although there's sometimes TMI for my taste, this peace of art kept it's own style through all the book. NO BS. Naked truth!

Main Characters Livvie (aka Kitten) and Caleb (aka Master{*roll-my-eyes*})

Livvie is a girl (with a turn for Stockholm's) with demons of her own.
She's 18 and from very young age she'd been told that when she'll grow-up, she'll become a whore! WTF? What sane parents would say that? None.I know it and you know it! But seems like she's not so sure about that {*roll-my-eyes*}
And yeah, the irony of it all, she will become a whore after all.
{Hope not, but it's not my place to decide that.}
But in her heart she's a fighter! You can almost smell the spirit coming through! So I'm very positive she'll never become a whore or a slave. Not in her heart, anyway..

Caleb ... Now he's one fucked-up Mo'Fo! I mean really??!! Capture a girl, then make her into a sex-slave and sold her to a man you despise so much.. (???)
WOW!
Very clever!
What the hell is wrong with you? Gheeezuz!! I mean you're not the only one in the world who had more then terrible things to go through! No need to go all Rembo on a poor girl!

Don't worry, I still have hope for you.

Recommendations:
If you like reading about nasty things - this book is probably for You!
Not that it's to creepy. It's not. Just reading about beat-up crying woman, takes a lot of nerves and courage.

My feeling registration:

My feelings about this book are very conflicting.
I like the whole story..
I hate how he treat's her..
But I like how he's changing. Opening to her, to himself. And that's one of the best things in this book. Things get better in some freaky way.
But there's still so much demon's inside Caleb, that the HELL feels deserted.

So, despite what I wrote so far, this book is written very well.
I liked that readers can see both Livvie's and Caleb's POV's. That helps to understand more of what the hell is in their heads.

That's all from me :)

And believe me when I say that my eyebrows was raised! They still are!
This story is so messed-up I don't even know what to tell You.
Well, first of all this is for adults only.
So if you're a youngster still, go read Harry Potter or something.
This is some heavy stuff!
