Review: Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines

( Too Far #1 )

blurb:

To want what you’re not supposed to have…

She is only nineteen.

She is his new stepfather’s daughter.

She is still naïve and innocent due to spending the last three years taking care of her sick mother.

But for twenty-four year old Rush Finlay, she is the only thing that has ever been off limits. His famous father’s guilt money, his mother’s desperation to win his love, and his charm are the three reasons he has never been told no.

Blaire Wynn left her small farmhouse in Alabama, after her mother passed away, to move in with her father and his new wife in their sprawling beach house along the Florida gulf coast. She isn’t prepared for the lifestyle change and she knows she’ll never fit into this world. Then there is her sexy stepbrother who her father leaves her with for the summer while he runs off to Paris with his wife. Rush is as spoiled as he is gorgeous. He is also getting under her skin. She knows he is anything but good for her and that he’ll never be faithful to anyone. He is jaded and has secrets Blaire knows she may never uncover but even knowing all of that…

Blaire just may have fallen too far.

First of all let me just gush about the cover first!!! I really haven't know that it would show them off so perfectly! It's just like I imagine them to be!!
Great work on this!!! Whoever did it, I salute them with this victory!

So lets get to this book.

I don't think I've read anything by dear Abbi Glines until now, not that I didn't want to. But lets be real, do you see how many books I have in my TBR list? And I want to read All of them. And then there's those that I haven't found yet, but will be in the same pile soon.
So I ask my forgiveness, I hope the author will grant me one. Cause I freakin' LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!

From the first pages I couldn't stop laughing! I think the innocence of the heroine and the stubbornness stole me away! Maybe she's quiet but she's not weak!
And that is why I was so drawn to this book.
The hero is another douchebag. At least author let us believe that for awhile. And he is.
'Cause I was soo mad at him for how he treated Blaire from the start!! I thought I'd pull my own gun on him! ( I don't have one, but that's not the case lol)
Anyway, as the story continued I became really protective of our heroine. Some people may call her spineless or stupid.
But she's not. Yes she's naive and very sweet, but in her, it's a huge plus! I really never thought someone could pull that off ( talking about the author). Usually, when I read about someone like that I feel mad. I hate how weak woman can be when a man is in the picture.
But this time it was different. That girl went through so much, and life haven't decided yet to leave her be. But she kept it together, she kept standing and she kept living!
I have so much respect for this character I'm really in awe!

I don't wanna spoil you with revealing too much, cause you need to experience this for yourself.
This is a sweet and breathtakingly beautiful story about a young man an a woman who want so many things.. and only time show what will happen next.

I recommend this book to all NA and romance lovers. This book is amazing and I wanna share it with everyone!

I'm off to reading a second book!

Peace
A.

Review: Bully by Penelope Douglas

Fall Away series

blurb:

My name is Tate. He doesn't call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all.

We're neighbors, and once, we were best friends. But then, one summer, he turned on me and has made it his mission to screw up my life at every opportunity. I've been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to hide from him. I worried about what was around every corner and behind every door.

So I left.

I spent a year studying abroad and bathed in the freedom of life without Jared. Now I'm back to finish up high school and get the hell out of here forever. I'm hoping that after a year of breathing room, he's moved on and forgotten all about me.

But even if he hasn't changed, I have. I'm not interested in avoiding him or turning the other cheek anymore. We're going to go head to head, because neither of us wants to back down.

~*~*~*~*~*~

If counting a first half of the book, I wanted to give 3 if not 2 stars, I'm happy to let you know It got less frustrating :)

So, the other day, I saw the cover and the tittle and thought - Whoa! I need to read this!
But then I've read some reviews and wasn't so sure anymore.. There was a lot of people who questioned the reasons behind hero's bullying and my excitement sank! Oh, hell - I thought, what a shame :/ And I left it at that.
Read few more books, but my thoughts kept side stepping me and coming
right back here.. The I said "screw it" and read it anyway! :)

You know what? It was perfect timing!!!

This book is true teen anxiety and emotional rollercoaster, but I loved it! I loved the thrill and the unknown!

So if you have doubts about this book - DON'T. It was almost perfect to me.
I still had a hard time getting over his reasoning for ... well, let's say a lot of thing, but then I remembered that they're just teens and obviously not everyone can be as smart and I was, when I was a teenager! :D LMAO

So anyway, don't over-think it and just enjoy the ride!

Peace,
A.

ouch!
This book hurt... a lot

5 Sizzling Stars!!!

"...You need to be my everything."

This is a "love" story of Ellie(Eden) and Javier.

So I should say that after this book, I'm not even sure on who's team I am.

At the beginning we got a glimpse at a very young and, in my opinion, very naive Ellie Watt. Of course she has this big bad plan for revenge. That should have made her into a bad-ass girl.
Well let me say that it haven't worked out all that well.
She got soft.
Ah, I forgot to mention, - she fell in love too.
And not just to anybody...
But to a very charming, very possessive and very, very cruel man Javier...
and oh my.. he's definitely a charmer! A real ladies man. He knows what he's doing, and he is doing it well.

I would really like Javier's book, with his POV. He's a real puzzle to me.
It looks like he's possessed with Ellie (Eden) and yet he's so distant sometimes. I would love to take a glance in his mind.

"So why did you come here?"
He smiled lazily. "I told you. I'm persistent. I don't like being told no."

Reading the ending of this book really really hurt. I was so disappointed ... although.. I actually knew how this would all end.
I was still hoping .. for some kind of HE I guess. I'm a romantic to the core. I believe even those bad, ugly people with rotten hearts deserve to love and be loved. Sad.. I know :)

"Revenge has been my lover for too long," he said, breath hot on my neck. He began sliding down my body, toward the floor, arms around me.
"Power, my savior. I need to learn how to put you first, above those things. I need you to help me. I don't want to love anything more than you, Eden, so please, I'm begging you, show me how. You need to be my everything."

So anyway, I think I'll play safe for now and choose Team Ellie
for now!
I need more info about our 'boyz'. :)

Absolutely loved listening this audiobook!

Narrator did a great job! It was almost like I had read it myself!

~*~*~*~*~*~

5 STARS!!!

( I just can give less after listening to this!)

This story is not about a love at first sight...

This story is about a young woman..

A story that made my hearth hurt more then few times..

A story for , and not just, abused females all around the world.
Ladies! - We need to unite, and NOT close to ourselves if we're being abused!

Ask for

There will always be someone who could help You!

I started thinking that maybe I should also join self-defense classes! There were few moves in this book that I def would like to learn.

That's right! I want tho share my excitement about martial arts in this book... there will be some action in that area. Oh, and there will be tats involved.. And everybody who knows me, knows my love for guys with tattoos.. It's just soo.. sinful :))
Shallow me.. whatever :))

~*~*~*~

.... And there's the love story..
two people falling for each other no matter that the circumstances are not in their favor.

It's about soul-deep connection and care..

I don't want to reveal too much. You just have to read it by yourself :))

BTW - it's very well written, maybe the story-line is a bit stretched in some places, but that doesn't really change anything.
I loved this book the first time I've read it, and now.. It was even more amazing experience!!!

Did I mentioned that this book..

It's beautiful!

"Love is not the absence of logic, but logic examined and recalculated, heated and curved to fit inside the contours of the heart"

4 strong Stars!

Ok, so I've just finished reading this .. and first thing I did was to take a deep breath.

My anxiety was through the roof nearing the end of this book, so I peeked to see how will it end, not much, just took a glanced at few words..

And what I saw disappointed me.
I was expecting the ending would be totally different. Cause at one point, reading this book I thought, shit.. another fairy-tale with the happy ending. Where no matter what goes down, in the end everyone will be happy.
But not so much in this book.

So back to my expectations and how it was all ruined when I peeked at the ending.
So I got back to reading it from were I left, and you know what? Now I think It's the perfect ending!
It gave totally different meaning for this book. And now I don't see it as another cheap love-fairy-tale ( just with no faeries, don't get confused on that).

It's actually a sad, conflicted love story. Which I didn't expect.
But it was beautiful (in some twisted kind of way). So I strongly recommend on reading it.

-----------

4 Stars!

I really enjoyed the story and how it was written.

I loved the Idea of two young people struggling with life.
I def loved the "slamming". I'd love to go on a "slam". Sadly we don't have such things here, well at least I think we don't.

Although It's a sad story.. about life and death (emphasize on LIFE :)) ) but it had happy ending!

And this book really made me stop and think about everything... How grateful I am of what I have.
This book made me cry more then once.. and it's ok. cause now I appreciate even MORE what I HAVE!

Thank You Colleen for this journey. I got Schooled by this book, big time!

My fav slam...

"BLUE SWEATER

Bom Bom...

Bom Bom...

Bom Bom...

Do you hear that?

That's the sound of my heart beating...

Bom Bom...

Bom Bom...

Bom Bom...

Do you hear that? That's the sound of your heart beating.

It was the first day of October. I was wearing my blue sweater, you know the one I bought atDillard’s? The one with a double knitted hem and holes in the ends of the sleeves that Icould poke my thumbs through when it was cold but I didn't feel like wearing gloves? It was thesame sweater you said made my eyes look like reflections of the stars on the ocean.

You promised to love me forever that night...

and boy

did you

ever!

It was the first day of December this time. I was wearing my blue sweater, you know the one I bought at Dillard’s? The one with a double knitted hem and holes in the ends of the sleeves that I could poke my thumbs through when it was cold but I didn't feel like wearing gloves? It was the same sweater you said made my eyes look like reflections of the stars on the ocean

I told you I was three weeks late

You said it was fate.

You promised to love me forever that night...

and boy

did you

ever!

It was the first day of May. I was wearing my blue sweater, although this time the double stitched hem was worn
and the strength of each thread tested as they were pulled tight against my growing belly. You know the one. The same one I bought at Dillard’s? The one with holes in the ends of the
sleeves that I could poke my thumbs through when it was cold
but I didn't feel like wearing gloves? It was the same sweater
you said made my eyes look like reflections of the stars on the
ocean.

The SAME sweater you RIPPED off of my body as
you shoved me to the floor,

calling me a whore ,

telling me

you didn't love me

anymore.

Bom Bom...

Bom Bom...

Bom Bom...

Do you hear that? That's the sound of my heart beating.

Bom Bom...

Bom Bom...

Bom Bom...

Do you hear that? That's the sound of your heart
beating.

(There is a long silence as she clasps her hands to her stomach, tears streaming down her face)

Do you hear that? Of course you don't. That's the silence
of my womb.

Because you

RIPPED

OFF

MY

SWEATER!"

-----------------
5 HUGE Stars!

No spoilers

First of all... This book broke my heart.. It really did! But by the end J.A.Redmerski was capable to put it back together.

And before I say more, I just want to share a song, that was in my head throughout this all book.

I know that Cam and Andrew would probably not be happy 'bout my pick, but I just feel this song is appropriate somehow for this book. And I really want to share that.

The Song:

Short version of the book:

So the story start with a girl, a broken one. She's gone through some horrible things in her life already, and she's only 20. It's hard for her to adapt in this life.

She's dreaming of world-travel and feels like nobody gets her.
So one day she just does it. Gets up, trow some necessary's  in her bag and leaves... She don't know where's she going, and basically she don't even cares.
And that's when all the fun begins!

My thoughts:

I don't wanna spoil you all that went on, so I wont! Cause this book...!!!! You need to read it and breath it in! It was such a beautiful, although a little heartbroken story. The pain, and the joy, the love.. all that they went through, I felt it in my bones. I cried when they did, I laughed when they laughed. And although I got the flu, and both of my girls are sick too, I stayed late in the night, as much as possible, read when I could, just to finally get to the end. I was so scared of the ending.. And when I couldn't read,( cause of the two sick kids... well, you can only imagine the fun lol) I thought about Cam and Andrew almost all the time, and Rihanna - Diamonds lyrics playing in my mind.

Even now, it's still so fresh, that remember this book, especially some parts of it makes me wanna cry like mo'fo.

I wanna thank to the Author for this amazing journey! I know that I say this a lot, but I only say it when I really mean it!
